Artists Create Sunflower Painting to Raise Funds for Ukraine

The Ten-2-One Artists will be sending their 4-foot by 8-foot Sunflower painting on a road trip. On Aug. 26-28 this stunning tribute for Ukraine willhang proudly in the Home and Garden Building at the Terryville Fair. The Terryville Lion’s Club has graciously offered to exhibit this artwork and to collect money for Ukraine. Donations will be sent to the Ukrainian Medical Association of North America, in conjunction with the Kushnir Project. UMANA and its chapters are collecting, purchasing and shipping medical supplies to Ukrainian hospitals and clinics.
The Ten-2-One Artists and some passer-byes have painted these sunflowers. In fact, artists across the world
have been painting sunflowers to show solidarity for Ukraine. According to a 1993 Encyclopedia of Ukraine, in the context of war, sunflowers signify that Russia will not crush Ukraine’s spirit. This public art piece was created
to journey forward to bring awareness. A special thanks to Sandra Murphy-Bishop, Home and Garden Building Manager,
and Lions Club member for putting this all together. The Artists of Fine Arts Connection of Thomaston hope that a
business, organization, or person would be interested and willingto publicly display this tribute and coordinate donations to helpthe people of Ukraine. For more information, visit the Crescent Gallery any Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and meet the artists.
