Folk-Rocking Sisters to Perform at St. Paul’s 225-Year Anniversary Celebration

Sisterhood is powerful, especially when it comes to music. The Nields. a sibling folk-rock duo, will perform a free concert Saturday, September 10, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Bantam as part of the church’s 225- year anniversary celebration. The concert, the first of three events celebrating St. Paul’s founding in 1797, will be followed by an outdoor ice cream social outdoors. Doors will open at 1 p.m. for the concert. The ice cream social will begin at 2:30 p.m. St. Paul’s is located at 802 Bantam Road, Bantam. Seating is limited to 100 people. For tickets register on Eventbrite at https://stpaul225th- Nields.eventbrite.com. The event is open to the public, but registration is required. Bring your Eventbrite printout to show your registration. The Nields story begins with two sisters. Nerissa and Katryna, who grew up singing folk songs in the kitchen and in the back seat of the family car. Katryna learned to sing melody with their father, eventually making her an ideal front person for the group. Nerissa tackled the harmonies; with that skill, she provided a natural counterpoint to her sister’s vibrant lead. Occasionally adding more members to the group, their first album was released in 1994, and many more have followed. Their latest albums will be on sale at this event. PARKING: Attendees are asked to use the Bantam Post Office parking lot on Doyle Road, Folk-Rocking Sisters to Perform at St. Paul’s 225-Year Anniversary Celebration which intersects with Bantam Road (Rte. 202) two doors down from the church. It’s a short walk to the church. No parking will be allowed in the church parking lot, which will be used for the ice cream social. Also, no parking along Doyle Road, the only exit to Rte. 202 for the Bantam Fire Department.
