The Terryville Public Library has scheduled many activities and events for the Fall. Here’s just a sampling: Summer Fabric Wreath/Candle Ring Wednesday, Aug. 24 at 2:30 p.m. Learn how to make a fabulous fabric scrap wreath, creating lovely home decor to hang on a wall/door or put around a candle. Materials will be provided, but fabric colors will differ from what is pictured. If you have scraps of fabric, feel free to bring with you to use for project. Register at https://forms.gle/JdUc9WUuYKDWSr6E9 The Bobcat: Connecticut’s Secretive Wild Cat Thursday, Sept. 1 at 6 p.m. We welcome back Master Wildlife Conservationist, Ginny Apple, to do a presentation on the bobcat. The presentation focuses on the natural history of bobcats in Connecticut. It also provides an overview of bobcat habitat, diet, behavior, reproduction and current research efforts. Bobcat artifacts will also be shown. This program is open to all ages. This is not a handson program, though we’ll walk through cutting and weeding the vinyl, selecting the right heat and time settings and care instructions for the resulting product. Seats are limited. Registration is required. Suspense/Thriller Book Club “The End of Her” by Shari Lapena Thursday, Sept. 15 at 5:15 p.m. In September, we will be reading “The End of Her” by Shari Lapena. We will meet on Thursday, Sept 15 at 5:15 p.m. (NOTE DATE CHANGE) in the fiction room inside the Library. After Aug. 11, you can pick up a copy of the book selection from the Circulation Desk or call the library at 860-582-3121 to make arrangements for curbside pickup. Large type and audiobooks are generally available. You can register for this program by emailing ccowles@biblio.org, although registration is not required.
Introduction to Arduino Tuesday, Sept. 20 at 6:30 p.m. This program will cover the basics of sending code to an Arduino and building small projects. This program is open to adults and grades 6+. Registration is required.
Apron of Many Pockets Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 6:30 p.m. During this intermediate beginner class, we’ll be making a
half-apron with a variety of pockets for purposes big or small. Perhaps you will create a gardening apron to hold tools or seeds. Perhaps, instead, your apron will be put into duty for art projects or crafting. We’ll provide
the fabric and instruction, you can modify the apron for your interests. Class size is limited. Registration is required.

Sewing machines are available on-site for individual projects. Call 860-583-4467 to make arrangements. Library staff must give you an overview of our Brother CS5055 sewing machine, including the basic operation and threading of the machine before you may use them independently.
