Wojtusik Nursery and Christmas Shop Celebrates 66 Years of Christmas Cheer

Wojtusik Nursery Christmas Shop is proudly celebrating 66 years in business. Located at 750 Terryville Ave. in Bristol, Connecticut, this family owned and operated business is known for its beautiful hanging baskets and flowers grown by brothers Philip and Peter Wojtusik. In the Spring through Fall months you will find their two greenhouses filled to the brim with flowers, vegetables, houseplants and herbs of all kinds. Just outside they carry a big selection of trees, shrubs, perennials, rose bushes, soils, mulch and every-
thing else you need for a successful growing season.

From October to Dec. 31 upstairs is this Magical Christmas Wonderland — a huge Christmas Shop that was established in the 1980s by Philip’s and Peter’s mother. Forty individually themed trees to shop with thousands of ornaments of all kinds.

This year’s theme is “Snowy Polar Express.” Partly inspired by the movie and partly by the beautiful village train in the Christmas Shop. A must see when you visit. You will find everything you need to decorate your home inside and out. They also carry a unique line of handcrafted gifts, candles, stocking stuffers, water globes, gift baskets and grab-and-go gifts.

Manager Cynthia Schug said, “This year is bigger and better than ever before. The staff has outdone themselves trying to make this year extra magical for
all who visit the store. We love hearing the sounds of customers as they enter the upstairs Christmas Shop. The ‘Oh, my gods’ and the ‘Wows’ echo through the store. It makes us all very happy.”

Well, that’s not it because the downstairs gift shop is also transformed, continuing the theme from the upstairs Christmas Shop. But here you will find artificial wreaths, kissing balls, centerpieces, bows, ribbons, holiday picks, lawn decor, flags and so much more. In the houseplant section is a beautiful variety of holiday plants such as poinsettias, Christmas cactus, cyclamen, mini cypress snowy trees as well as a variety of holiday pottery for your plants.

During the holiday season they don’t just do it up inside; the outside also gets transformed with several holiday blowups up to 14 feet tall and many lighted
decorations. You will also find for purchase fresh-cut Christmas trees, greens, garlands, fresh handmade wreaths, centerpieces, swags, kissing balls, and of course, the beautiful memorial logs made by Scott, an employee of Wojtusik’s for over 40 years.
Carl, also a long-time employee with over 25 years, hand makes the huge 10-foot wreath that hangs on the City Hall building downtown.
Custom orders are welcome on all live and artificial wreaths, garlands, and centerpieces. Custom bows and tree toppers also made to order.
Owner Peter Wojtusik said, “I love looking back over the years thinking of how my children enjoyed the Christmas Shop and now as adults they still love it today. Seeing my granddaughter’s expression when she visits is priceless.”
Now if that’s still not enough Christmas cheer for you, Wojtusik Nursery’s Christmas Shop hosts several events throughout the year with their biggest during the Christmas season. Santa and Mrs. Claus along with the North Pole elves come for two visits: Saturday, Nov.26 and Saturday, Dec. 10 from
