United Way of West Central Conn. Announces New President and CPO

BRISTOL — United Way of West Central Connecticut (UW-
WCC) Board is pleased to announce Manny Martinez as the new president and CPO. During
his 15-year career, Martinez has served in many senior positions in the non-profit sector, including the Boys & Girls Club, Boy Scouts of America, Chrysa-
lis Center, Inc., and Middlesex United Way.

Martinez is an active member in the community, serving as a Board member of the Boys &
Girls Club of Greater Waterbury, board member of the Middle-
town Racial Justice Coalition and is a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Bristol. Manny is known by many in the community and can be seen at many school and social events with his two children, Vayda and Levi Martinez.

In 2022, United Way of West
Central Connecticut celebrates
100 years of uniting partnerships among businesses, government agencies, funders, other nonprofit organizations, and individual citizens to meet the needs of the communities we serve; through our initiatives of health, education, and financial stability.

“We are excited to welcome Manny into this celebratory year. Manny brings a fresh perspective to our organization, with his extensive knowledge and work experience; making him the perfect candidate to lead us to be a stronger trusted partner in our four-
town community for the next 100 years,” said Keith Bernier; UW-
WCC Board Chair.

“I am excited to work with amazing individuals and supporters in our four-town community. I understand the importance of bringing the community together and working towards
the common goal of improving quality of life for those in our
area. We, United Way staff and supporters, help people in ways we couldn’t as individuals,” said Manny Martinez. He added, “I am grateful for the opportunity to lead UWWCC for the next 100 years and be a part of a great organization doing incredible things for Bristol, Burlington, Plainville and Plymouth. I look forward to bringing my experience and skills to the continuous success of UWWCC!”

Way of Plainville in 1996 to form the United Way of West Central

Connecticut and one of nearly 1,300 national and worldwide
